If nothing else, I hope that this election causes people to see that not everyone is "like us."
Change requires hard work... Time to roll up our sleeves and pitch in.

Often on The West Wing, President Bartlet would ask, "What's next". I find I'm asking that of myself now. Here's what I've come up with.
1. Attend Democratic and Republican political events, such as breakfasts, and other meetings. My goal here is to do two a month.
2. Attend at least one public session of city council a quarter.
3. Focus on the people and the issues of Virginia Beach, and blog what I've learned and my opinions at Virginia Beach Progressives.
4. Prepare to campaign for causes and candidates in the future, so that I'm not just jumping on the tail end a campaign, but leading the charge.
